The aim of the programmes is the specialization of veterinarians in microbiological diagnostics according to the guidelines of the European College of Veterinary Microbiology (ECVM), respectively the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists (ACVM). Core features are the consolidation of knowledge in diagnostics of infectious diseases in animals as well as their surveillance.
The residency programmes at the Institute of Veterinary Bacteriology train veterinarians who wish to specialize as veterinary microbiologists and acquire the national title FVH and the international Diploma of the ECVM (see below) and ACVM (see below).
